Long lashes can define your face and give you that polished, luscious finish we all want to see, even if you don’t wear much make up normally. Quick glam fixes are even more important into the run up to the party season and getting ready for Christmas.
Of course, we’re not all blessed with thick, luscious lashes, but that shouldn’t stop you from looking polished when you go to the office or glam when you go to an event.
Lash extensions are very popular, and they can transform your appearance in just a few minutes. While getting them can almost instantly change the way you look, many people worry about the damage they might be doing to their existing lashes.
The truth is that with a bit of care and attention, this shouldn’t be a problem. What most people don’t know is that we lose our lashes quite regularly – normally between one and four a day. The weight of the lash extensions and the glue don’t make much of a difference to this.
Keep Your Luscious Lashes for Longer
Looking after your lash extensions using the following tips means they will last much longer. Here are some of our top tips that will help keep those lashes glam over as we head into the party season:
- Have Your Lashes Done by an Expert
When it comes to lash extensions it’s always better to have them placed by a professional with training. What’s more, they’ll be using more durable premier products and higher quality than you can buy online. The Cecily team are experts in getting those lashes in the right place and they use high quality products as part of their treatments.
- Avoid Touching Your Eyes
This can be quite difficult. It’s easy to have an unguarded moment and start rubbing your eyes. Of course, this can loosen the glue holding on the lash extensions.
Ideally, you should try to avoid rubbing or tugging at the lashes as much as possible. If you do have an itchy eye or something is bothering you, use a Q-tip to gently attend to the problem.
- Washing with Lash Extensions
It’s perfectly okay to wash your face when you have lash extensions, you just need to be gentle and not rub too hard. Use an oil-free cleanser on your eye makeup as this is less likely to affect the glue. Once you’ve had lash extensions a few times, you’ll get into the routine of simply using the right cleanser and not being too aggressive when you are cleaning. It’s okay, they are stronger than you think.
- Brush Your Lashes
This might sound a little odd but after you’ve removed your makeup, it’s a good idea to give your lash extensions a little brush. It keeps the individual lashes in the right place and should help them last longer.
Whether it’s for a job interview or presentation or you’re heading out to a party, there’s nothing better for your confidence than full lashes with that bold, dramatic appearance. Looking after them is not as difficult as you think – it’s mostly just a matter of being gentle around the eye area and using the right cleansing products.
